Tonight we begin to chronicle our adventure moving to Los Angeles. We have 19 working days left, about 2 months until we leave DC and about 3500 miles to go. We'll each be posting throughout this journey and we hope you enjoy reading about our adventure as much as we enjoy living it.

Having made this trip in reverse 36 year ago this August, I am so pleased that you are taking the time to enjoy the sights and sounds along the way. We have wonderful stories and memories of our many trips traveling from one coast to the other. My first time in the deep South encountering Southern accents; the night that the hotel gave us a key to an occupied room very late at night; the garages that couldn't repair our fiat because they didn't have metric wrenches. There will also be many new discoveries in Southern CA. I remember when Michael saw the ocean for the first time after we moved to Davis. He asked Marc where the pool ended.
